Our 2018 Barn Dance saw the same level of yee-hawin’, toe tappin’, straw coverin’ delight as we filled the hall with cowboys & cowgirls of all ages for an evening of dancing to the live tunes & irresistable calling of Shave The Donkey.
The jiggin’, toe tappin’, natterin’ and drinkin’ soon created some hearty appetites and the aroma from the deliciously homemade hotpot (cooked by Northern Lights Committee members) led to a mighty hungry crowd gatherin’ for a tasty lip smackin’ supper!
The hotpot recipe was much sought after so we thought we’d make it available here. Signup for your Northern Lights newsletter and get your hotpot recipe sent to your inbox – just press the button…..

The evening was a foot stompin’ success, if we do say so ourselves, with everyone full of jollity and laughter throughout the night. We had dances that included do-si-do’s, galloping, swinging your partner to and fro and more! A huge thank you must go to Shave The Donkey who, as always, played brilliantly and led us all through the dances, Mersey Morris Men and Steve Adderley for their entertainment.
Not forgetting our committee member chefs and everyone who attended, danced the night away and helped us raise £1120 in the process!
