The judges for our Art & Crafts Competition have been carefully selected from local artisan businesses. Their knowledge, skills and expertise will be used to identify 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes from our entries.

The School of Art
Katherine is the founder of The School of Art, an art centre based in Wirral that teaches all kinds of
creative media to families in the northwest. Katherine has taught Art & Design in several secondary and grammar schools across Wirral. She opened her own business with the sole aim of creating a relaxed, fun and inspiring learning environment which Is open for all ages and abilities for both children and adults.
Katherine is a well qualified artist, achieving a Distinction in her Art diploma and furthering her
education with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, with Honours. She then expanded her skills by
achieving a Master’s Degree in Education enabling her to teach and inspire children with the
creativity that she holds such a passion for. Katherine also incorporates her art into her photography business
Now living her dream of establishing her own art and photography school, Katherine is providing an opportunity for anyone who has an interest in art to come along, learn new techniques and express

This is Black Doe
Amie is a textile designer and has launched her business Black Doe, an ethical printed fashion brand. Amie brings her illustrations of birds and animals to life through prints on fabric. These are then made into unique and colourful clutch bags. Her illustrations and products are all hand drawn, hand made with love and a little sprinkle of magic!
Amie loves art, drawing, her horse and gigs.
We’re looking forward to Amie joining the other judges at the Northern Lights Charity Art & Crafts Competition.

Scott & Luce Duffey
Toucan Tango is a husband and wife screen printing duo. Scott and Luce create original artwork conjured out of taking joy in simple everyday pleasures whether they be a cracking cuppa a weekend ramble in the Welsh hills or listening to a new record on repeat.
Their shared love of all things bold and bright is reflected in the gig posters they have designed and printed for bands including Maximo Park Dinosaur Jr. and Everything Everything as well as striving to produce thoughtful hand printed gifts to make people smile.
We’re looking forward to Scott & Luce joining the other judges and bringing their unique perspective to judging the Northern Lights Charity Art & Crafts Competition.

The competition exhibition will be open to the public at the Parkgate Carnival, inside the marquee from 12.00pm – 2.15pm on the 8th of July.
The judges will then meet to make their decisions at approximately 2.30pm and winners announced at approximately 4.00pm.
